Research Scientist (f/m/d) Assay Development

Full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:

- Support the implemention of new assay technologies to improve assay performance, sensitivity and throughput and keep up-to-date with scientific findings from literature, scientific meetings and other sources.
- Effectively communicate study findings in project teams. Give presentations at customer visits and external scientific meetings and prepare technical proposals for clients (including calculation of costs and timelines) for Hit Identification projects. Act as main contact person from the beginning to the completion of a project.
- Assume line management responsibilities of a team of research assistants or research associates; including performing appraisal interviews, mentoring and supporting the development of your direct reports and train technical staff to develop high quality assays suited for HTS and post-HTS processes; coordinate your team’s work to meet completion dates.
- Make sure that your team complies with the QC standards for assays, instruments and processes.

Your ideal qualifications:

- PhD degree in biology, biochemistry or another related scientific field.
- Understanding of the technologies used as well as methods needed for evaluation of data, assays and reporting of such data.Pronounced interpersonal and technical communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional project teams and within a matrix and culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to advise and guide staff and colleagues in a decisive, but supportive and encouraging manner.
- Fluency in English.
