for Facultative Reinsurance

Within Munich Re’s International Facultative Underwriting unit, we write worldwide casualty facultative reinsurance with our clients. We also serve our Treaty department by evaluating and assessing single risks. We are looking for an experienced Underwriter for facultative casualty reinsurance and direct insurance topics. In addition to writing complex casualty risks, among your challenging responsibilities will be creating and tapping into new business potential through customized and innovative solutions, in cooperation with our business partners. This position is based in Munich and we are filling two positions.

Your job
- Ensuring the technical quality of facultative casualty underwriting
- Supporting the continued development of customer, class of business, and product strategies that take (claim) trends and customer needs into account, and implementing these strategies
- Acquiring profitable (new) business and tapping new business potential
- Assessing, accepting, and administering (complex) facultative proportional and non-proportional reinsurance offers according the underwriting guidelines and your underwriting authority
- Working on market, customer, and portfolio analyses, and providing ideas to generate new business and innovative (product) solutions
- Execution and/or participation of external and internal audits
- Providing stimuli in intra
- and interdepartmental working groups and in expert groups
- Proactively communicating line-of-business topics (via social media, among others)
- Being involved in internal and external professional training measures and seminars, including lecturing
- Cooperating collaboratively and transparently with relevant interfaces such as Client Management, Treaty Underwriting, and Claims

**Profile**:

- Preferred judicial or economical education, or similar insurance-related education
- Sound knowledge and multi-year international underwriting experience in liability insurance
- Fluent business English and solid knowledge of a second foreign language, preferably French or Spanish
- Independent, proactive, dedicated, and precise working manner, as well as ability to handle heavy workload
- Solution-oriented, structured, and creative in thought and action, as a role model for the team
- Outgoing and good team player
- Very customer-focused and excellent negotiation skills; keen and ready to break new ground and deliver outstanding service to our customers
- Proactive communication skills and excellence in the use of social media, among other channels
- Willingness to travel
