**Duties**: - Serves as the Operations Branch Supervisor of the Army Enterprise Service Desk-Europe (AESD-E). - Directs a 24/7 work operation involving civil service employees engaged in technical, service level management, and administrative service desk functions. - Executes the day-to-day operations of the AESD-E to ensure specific needs of the customers are met in a timely manner and according to service level agreements and operational directions. - Determines trends, identifies, and recommends improved methods, software, program design, and hardware to increase efficiency of operations. - Reviews work completed by subordinates, accepting, amending, or rejecting work as appropriate. - Develops/reviews hardware and supporting software as well as alternatives to meet AESD-E information systems requirements for the European theater. - Discusses alternatives and provides assistance/direction to other technical specialists and analysts to ensure that all points are considered, and that the information base is as complete as possible. **Requirements**: **Conditions of Employment**: - Three year trial/probationary period may be required. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance, favorable T3/SSBI security investigation. This position is designated as Critical Sensitive. - The IT classification for this position is IT Level I. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain the security background investigation and clearance requirements for IT Level I. - Must be able to obtain commercial certification credential as directed by DoD Publication 8570.1M/ 8140 "Information System Certification" with 6 months of acceptance. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a USAREUR Driver's license. - This position requires the employee to occasionally travel from the normal duty location 10%. - May require shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage during evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and in other situations. The incumbent may be on an "on-call" status. - Position requires employee to successfully pass the Army in Europe Computer User Test. - In accordance with AR 690-11, this position may be designated as "Mission-Essential". - This position is in the Supervision/Management work category as defined by Cyber Excepted Service, DoDI 1400.25-V3007. A one-year supervisory probation is required to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties. - Current DoD Employees: If a current permanent CES employee, you shall be granted administrative return rights. If not a current permanent CES employee, you may be granted administrative return rights if agreed to by your CONUS organization. - In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction 1400.25 Volume 1230. **Qualifications**: **Who May Apply**: **This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Full Performance Level within the CES Occupational Structure.** To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. **Specialized experience would be demonstrated by ensuring resolution of complex help desk service requests; conducting studies and/or analyzing current and future programs, policies, and resource factors to ensure effectiveness in achieving planned goals and objectives; managing information technology team to include creating objectives, managing employee performance, and time keeping; planning and monitoring the work accomplished by subordinates ensuring schedules, requirements, and priorities are met; and conducting studies and/or analyzing current and future programs, policies, and resource factors to ensure effectiveness in achieving planned goals and objectives.** The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: **(1) Attention to Detail** - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
