Information Technology Specialist

**Duties**:

- Using systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques, runs tests to verify operability and functionality. Carries out routine maintenance, upgrade, and support of servers.
- Provides information and instructions related to the maintenance and service process. Runs systems backups. Prepares and presents reports and briefings to technical staff. Interprets IT policies, standards and guidelines.
- Develops network usage policies and procedures. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices. Implements systems security plans, policies and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Performs assignments using standard principles, theories, concepts and methods for systems administration and systems engineering.
- Provides ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.

- A probation period of one year may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience, education and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in:
- Principles and methods for integrating information systems components;
- Performance tuning tools and techniques;
- System diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; Systems administration methods; and IT security principles.

Qualifying applicants will:

- Possess a graduate degree in one of the following fields of study: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, or technology management.

Possess at least one (1) year of experience performing duties that have provided you with the knowledge and skill of: Principles and methods for integrating information systems components; performance tuning tools and techniques; system diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; -systems administration methods; and IT security principles.

Possess a combination of the above listed experience, education and intensive training to provide you with you the knowledge and skill of: Principles and methods for integrating information systems components; performance tuning tools and techniques; system diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; -systems administration methods; and IT security principles**Highly preferred applicants will have**:

- Experience with using PowerShell Scripting
- Experience working with RecTrac and CYMS databases.
- Experience in working with Microsoft Active Directory.
- Experience using MS Server 2012R2 with Hyper V.
- Possess a Valid driver's license.
