**Your challenge**:
In this strategic and impactful role reporting to the VP of Customer Success & Operations, you will drive our German tax filing operations strategy, build and lead a high-performing and flexible team of tax professionals, set effective workflows and structures, and establish a culture of collaboration and continuous process improvement, in order to enable our growing demand for assisted tax filing products.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Build and lead a flexible and lean organization of up to 50 people in the first year (many more in future years) that accommodates our seasonal business without sacrificing quality.
- Motivate and develop a world class team of tax experts who care deeply for our customers.
- Assure a high quality of service, staffing strategy, and team culture that drives conversion, loyalty, and referral in a cost-effective way.
- Set a high bar for process excellence and drive strategies to streamline team operations, ensure productivity, and ensure high impact results in a 12-24 month timeframe.
- Deeply understand our customer issues and efficiency issues and translate them into actionable improvements for other Taxfix teams.
- Develop and manage a 7 digit department budget to deliver on gross margin targets.
- Be on the forefront of innovation and best practices in tax services and operations and implement what is applicable at Taxfix.
- Serve as a thought partner and leader within the department and with stakeholders across the company around supporting our customers in a high quality and cost-effective way.

**Your profile**:

- You have 5+ years experience building and leading teams in operations functions.
- You have experience in a fast-paced environment in the finance, tax, or legal sector.
- You have basic knowledge of German income taxes or a passion for tax topics.
- You have a strong track record of cracking business problems to drive customer value.
- You use data to inform your decisions.
- You are both a leader and manager, empowering and inspiring team members and colleagues through excellent project management and communication skills.
- You are pragmatic and results-driven.
- You are eager to grow, challenge, and develop yourself.
- You are fluent in German and English.
- This role requires being in our brand new Berlin office at least 1 day per week
