**Duties**:
Incumbent serves as a Safety Program Coordinator and an Assistant Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (APOSHO) with responsibility for assisting the Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (POSHO) in carrying out the day-to-day functions of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management (SHEM) and Fire Protection Division (FIR) programs at post as required by 15 FAM 900 and 15 FAM 800; assures that all government-owned and leased property in country meet the requirement of 15 FAM 253.5, 15 FAM 432, 15 FAM 840, and 15 FAM 950 as well as other related departmental requirements which may exist. Incumbent reports directly to the Senior Safety Program Coordinator and has overall responsibility of the administration of the safety programs at their assigned property portfolio - minimum portfolio size is 90,000 square meters.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum three (3) years of experience in the maintenance or construction field performing repair work or in the field of occupational safety are required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Comprehensive knowledge of SHEM and OSHA guidelines and required practices and procedures; general specialist knowledge of environmental safety standards.
- Standard specialist knowledge of construction safety management principles, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of Army Corps of Engineer’s EM-385 and/or applicable German construction/maintenance and safety regulations.
- The position must develop a standard knowledge of the operational needs of multiple agencies and sections and requirements of the Overseas Building Operations Bureau - Safety Health and Environmental Management, Disability Reasonable Accommodation Division and Fire Protection offices and the representatives from Diplomatic Security to ensure these requirements can be meet and still ensure agencies/sections operations are mínimally impacted.- Education Requirements:
Minimum two (2) years Post-Secondary studies at the College/University level in facilities management, environmental/occupational safety, construction, engineering, or architecture; or completion of a Vocational/Trades School training program equivalent to achieving a journey level qualification is required.

English level IV (fluent) reading/writing/speaking is required.
German level IV (fluent) reading/writing/speaking is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Standard level keyboard and computer skills to include specialized software, database management, spreadsheets, etc are required.
- Must possess excellent written and oral skills in order to conduct training and drafting of materials and reports in the performance of duties.
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize and oversee multiple projects. A Class B driver's license is required.
