Artistic-scientific assistant (M/F/d) as part of the graduate school “ARTILACS - Artistic Intelligence in Latent Creative Spaces”
in salary group 13 TV-L according to - 28 para. 1 HmbHG. The position is to be filled part-time (19.5 hours/week) for a limited period until 31.12.2027. It is a qualification position with the aim of an artistic-scientific doctorate project or the implementation of a comparable research project.
The Graduate School ARTILACS - Artistic Intelligence in Latent Creative Spaces focuses on the concept of “Artistic Intelligence”. This addresses a critical-affirmative examination of developments in artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of artistic practice. ARTILACS aims to investigate the extent to which a hybrid combination of AI-supported, latent spaces and traditional knowledge spaces opens up opportunities for new forms of creativity and knowledge in artistic practice, which can be methodologically captured in the concept of 'Artistic Intelligence'. Four Hamburg universities (HafenCity University, University of Applied Sciences, University of Fine Arts and University of Music and Theater) as well as the University and University of Music Lübeck are cooperating to shed light on the topic in the context of different artistic practices.
**Aufgabengebiet**:

- Conducting an artistic-scientific research project with a critical and experimental approach to artificial intelligence and future artistic publishing practices
- Clarifying questions of authenticity, factuality and authorship of digital publications as well as formal aspects, design and aesthetic quality of these publications
- Supporting student development projects in the form of courses
- Networking and collaboration with other members of the Graduate School
- Supporting the professorship for digital graphics in the focus area Artificial Agony

**Voraussetzungen**:
**Required**:

- completed scientific university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in the field of art, design, computer science, art history or similar.
- Experience with various AI-based technologies (e.g. deep learning, transfer learning, LLMs, agents)
- Knowledge of current discourses in graphic design

**Advantageous**:

- Experience in a university context
- Very good English language skills
