**The focus of your role**

We’re looking for a Team Lead Senior Stress Engineer in Aerospace to employ in the Hamburg area within our global business unit Smart Engineering.

In this role, you will build with us the added value we’re proud to offer to our customers. We will rely on your ability to work under pressure, short deadlines deliveries, and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

**_ What are we looking for?_**
- Proven good project management skills (e.g. project planning, change and risk management, team, and stakeholders management)
- Confirmed Engineering Team Management skills
- +7 Years of working experience in relevant industry (aerospace)
- Due to our work on military projects, EU nationality is required.

**_What will you do?_**
- discuss & agree with the customer as well as the team on the scope of various projects
- assess risks and changes while being capable to take timely and educated decisions
- preparing or supporting the preparation of clear and concise WBS (we expect you to know the term).
- support in assembling multi-skilled teams
- recruit and coordinate the recruitment of new team members
- prepare technical and realistic commercial proposals
- keep a close eye on the execution of the project and be in close contact with the project team and the Engagement Managers
- evaluate and understand what areas the team needs to improve
- be capable to manage a growing team of at least 35 people
- coordinate and align with other teams located in France, Spain, UK, and India.
- develop the team (skills and size)

**Your background should include**:

- Very good knowledge of technical mechanics, material science and lightweight construction, and Finite-Element-Model-Analysis (typically Nastran SOL101, SOL103, and SOL105)
- Good knowledge of aircraft primary structure design concepts, including composite design and analysis
- Good knowledge of software tools for finite-element-analysis (typically Hyperworks, NASTRAN, ABAQUS) and preferably customer-specific analysis tools (e.g. ISAMI)
- Programming knowledge is an advantage (Python, VBA, TCL)
- Diligence and quality awareness
- Proactivity and transparency
- Analytical/abstract thinking, systematic working methods, and process orientation
- Resilience, assertiveness, and negotiation skills
- Punctual willingness to travel (when required)
- Business fluent in English skills is required

We expect that you are experienced and well familiar with:

- Calculations of lightweight structures for the purpose of proof of strength and providing design solutions, especially primary structures in aircraft construction
- Performing sizing, optimization, and substantiation analysis of aircraft components
- Application of analytical calculation methods (handbook methods and customer-specific methods) and the finite-element-method
- Calculation of metallic components and fiber composite components
- Calculations regarding static strength, stability and non-linearities, Fatigue, and Damage Tolerance
- Creation and review of technical reports for static verification
- Evaluation of calculation processes and methods as well as suggestions for improvement
- Automation of calculation processes (design and verification of execution)
- Direct exchange with the design department
- Technical Lead of Project Team, including workload estimation, task planning, and distribution, responsibility for quality assurance, alignment, and presentation with customer
