**These are your responsibilities**:

- Business owner of the regional business strategy, ensuring the management, support, and monitoring of local growth opportunities to increase market share in the specialty lubricant solutions sector
- Develop country specific business strategies and business plans in cooperation with regional and global division heads and local business and sales leaders
- Oversee profitability including budget planning for the region in collaboration with the Specialty Executive Committee
- Develop the regional specialty network to assist in the effective implementation of business plans
- Leadership responsibility for a regional team consisting of Business Development, Managers and Application Engineers - primarily at the Kaiserslautern and Mannheim sites
- Impart market specific knowledge in all technical and commercial aspects within the region. Provide market specific sales support including coordination of technical training and roll-out packages
- Determining the most important target segments and target customer groups (key account customers, OEMs, component suppliers and other important key players) and participating in their acquisition planning together with the most important stakeholders
- Identify market trends and competitive activities in the region to determine key initiatives required to increase customer added value
- Be the main point of contact for the target-oriented implementation of business segmentation in EMEA within the Specialties Division
- Contribute to the segment-specific marketing offer (e.g. best practice case studies) as well as the development of key messages to support communication (play book) between countries and global networks together with Marketing

**What characterises you**:

- Professional experience as a Business Development Manager or comparable management function in sales. At least five years of proven track record, preferably in sales in the lubricants industry
- A technical or business degree or comparable education is required
- High market affinity as well as expertise in value-added selling and closing skills to meet mutually agreed sales targets
- Sales-technical understanding of key market segments and their customer requirements to develop effective product and service solutions with relevant functional departments
- Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and accurately to customers and other functional departments
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in writing and verbally. Very good English language skills are required, and good German language skills are desirable as the complete supply chain and all key functional departments are located in Germany
- Excellent organisational skills (priority and target setting as well as monitoring of projects and KPIs)
- Good IT skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), SAP R3, SAC
- High willingness to travel (EMEA region)
- Intercultural competence
