Munch Re’s central function “Corporate Underwriting Legal & Distribution“ ensures the quality of contract wordings in reinsurance transactions through guidelines and trainings, assists underwriting units with individual legal advice (e.g. reinsurance and insurance law, insolvency law, compliance-related topics like Financial Sanctions or Data Protection law), underwriting specific topics (like UW guidelines, single cases) and drives automatization of wording-related tasks. The team also assures quality of and advises in respect of transactions involving the delegation of (underwriting or other) authority to external parties.
It will be your job to define how Munich Re’s underwriting standards correctly translate into contract language, be it in corporate directives (General UW Guidelines and Line-of-Business specific Guidelines, Work Instructions and Alerts) or through individual consulting to business units. You are part of various quality-assuring processes (e.g. large deal, ex-gratia, reputational risk, UW reviews). Your responsibilities will also include content support for the development and support of underwriting relevant IT tools

**Your Job**
- Acting as a well-connected go-to person for selected contract language topics, in particular for Property lines
- Advising colleagues from all lines of business, mainly Property, in their business-related legal and underwriting challenges
- Assisting the automation of underwriting process
- Developing and adapting Munich Re’s quality standard positions in an ever changing environment with a focus on contract language (drafting and adjusting guidance, alerts etc. for all kind of (re-) insurance business)
- Supporting the Management in coping with new or changing strategic problems
- Providing and coordinating Underwriter trainings with respect to selected underwriting topics together
- Maintaining quality standards in various quality assessment processes (Large Deal, ex-gratia, dispensations, etc.)
- Supporting the Wording Experts with focus on selected topics

**Your Profile**
- Degree in Law or Economics (or similar faculty) preferred
- Experience in Property Underwriting, acquired in Underwriting or Claims
- Strong conceptual skills and abstract thinking
- Self-confident appearance and assertiveness
- Ability to work in/lead large complex projects
- Ability to communicate complex issues in an easily understandable manner for different target groups
- Enthusiasm for innovation and affinity for IT tools
- Team player with willingness to learn and deep-dive into new topics and assume ownership
- Ability and willingness to provide professional guidance
- High degree of personal commitment and intercultural competence
- Excellent command of written and spoken German and business English, other foreign languages are of advantage
