**Your mission**:
In this role, you will collaborate closely with appliedAI partners and new corporate clients to understand their challenges in implementing and scaling AI solutions. You will help translate technological capabilities into concrete business value across diverse corporate environments.
As part of the AI Engineering group at appliedAI, you will collaborate with our internal AI experts, AI strategists, and external partners to create high-impact prototypes and production-ready AI solutions that enable innovation and business transformation. With your deep expertise in Data and AI—particularly in the areas of large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI—you will serve as a recognized technology expert both within appliedAI, our customers and partners.
- You define the Agentic AI Agenda of appliedAI together with our partners and internal teams
- Responsibility for designing and implementing GenAI solutions, in particular agentic workflows, agentic search and multi-agent systems, tailored to specific customer needs
- Lead and develop a high-performing AI team, including mentoring, performance management, hiring, and capacity planning
- Drive strategic alignment and cross-functional collaboration, representing the team in leadership forums and ensuring successful execution of multiple projects
- Maintaining the highest engineering standards, you contribute to collaborative technology development within appliedAI and across the appliedAI Partner ecosystem
- Taking a leading role in translating novel methods and techniques of AI research/innovation into robust and scalable AI systems to drive customer value

**Your profile**:

- Excellent expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI techniques with a solid academic background in Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, or similar
- More than 10 years of professional background in implementing AI solutions, AI engineering or a related field, with proven references of implementation and scaling of AI products and solutions in corporate environments
- Ability and interest to holistically think about the impact of technology and Agentic AI in particular
- Experience in designing and implementing agentic systems using current Agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen,or crewAI
- Proven experience in leading and managing expert teams, ideally in a disciplinary leadership capacity, with the ability to create a vision and inspire others to follow and contribute to it
- Strong people management skills, including coaching, and team development as well as balanced resource planning
- Solid understanding of most relevant deep neural networks such as transformers, stable diffusion and embedding architectures
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and external partners
- Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and contributing to high-performing teams
- Fluent English is required; German proficiency is a plus
