We are looking for a driven and motivated Head of AI to join our dynamic, hybrid team. This role offers the unique opportunity to be a key contributor to our growth and success.
You will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing our AI payments assistant and AI-agents As we scale, you will have the chance to establish your leadership position and shape the future direction of our company.
Tasks
- Develop and Deploy Machine Learning Models: Code and implement predictive algorithms (using frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch) to analyze payment transactions and patterns
- Build and Maintain Data Pipelines for AI: Design robust, scalable data pipelines that ingest, clean, and preprocess large volumes of payments data for AI analysis.
- Implement Real-Time Anomaly Detection: Develop and continuously refine algorithms that monitor transactions for irregularities, enabling swift fraud detection and prevention.
- Integrate AI Solutions with Core Products: Work directly with engineering teams to embed AI-driven features into existing payment systems, ensuring smooth, real-time operation.
- Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis and Feature Engineering: Dive into raw data to extract valuable insights and engineer features that enhance model performance and accuracy.
- Prototype and Experiment with Emerging Technologies: Regularly test new AI tools and techniques in a lab environment, then scale the most promising solutions for production.
- Monitor, Evaluate, and Optimize Model Performance: Use hands-on coding to develop monitoring dashboards and automated pipelines that track key performance indicators (KPIs) for deployed models.
- Scale Algorithms for High-Volume Transactions: Tweak and optimize AI models to handle increased loads while maintaining accuracy and performance, ensuring reliability in a live payments environment.
- Lead Code Reviews and Technical Mentorship: Actively participate in and lead coding sessions, providing hands-on guidance and mentorship to junior AI engineers.
- Ensure Data Security and Compliance: Develop and enforce secure coding practices, and implement checks within the AI workflow to guarantee that all solutions meet regulatory and ethical standards.
- Build and Hire the AI & Data Science team.

**Requirements**:

- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
- Large Transactional Data Models: Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale transactional data systems.
- Cloud-Based Architecture: Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda) and related cloud infrastructure.
- OLAP Expertise: Familiarity with OLAP systems like ClickHouse for efficient analytical processing.
- Fintech Exposure: Experience in fintech is a plus, with familiarity in payment systems and financial data dynamics.
- Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in languages such as Python, R, or Java with expertise in machine learning frameworks.
- Data Pipeline Development: Demonstrated ability to build and manage end-to-end data pipelines for high-volume data ingestion and processing.
- Model Deployment: Hands-on experience in developing, deploying, and monitoring machine learning models in production environments.
- Security & Compliance: Deep understanding of data governance, security best practices, and compliance standards in financial contexts.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor junior talent, and effectively communicate complex AI concepts to diverse stakeholders.
