With over 60 employees, the Robotics and Assistive Systems department is one of the largest research departments for robotics in Europe and comprises the full range of expertise in this field.
The working group addresses technological issues within autonomous mobile outdoor robots. The team is multidisciplinary with outstanding expertise in mechatronics, autonomous navigation and perception, so that robots are researched and developed holistically.

Navigation and environment perception in semi-structured and unstructured terrain

Transfer learning, semi-supervised learning, reinforcement learning, optimization
- Becoming an expert in one of the subfields of navigation or perception:
Path planning, Mapping, Localization, Control, Environment perception
- Working in cross-domain teams
- Transfer of research results into new industrially applicable technologies
- Collaborate in international research teams to solve challenging problems in your field
- Publication of results at scientific conferences worldwide
- PhD project desired

**Was Sie mitbringen**
- Master's degree in a typical STEM field of study, completed with top grades
- Initial hands-on experience with machine learning and ROS
- Solid programming skills in C++, or Python required
- Strong ability to solve problems in an analytical and structured manner
- Strong interest in cutting-edge technology topics
- English very well, and German language is considered a plus

Die wöchentliche Arbeitszeit beträgt 39 Stunden. Die Stelle ist zunächst auf 3 Jahre befristet, eine Weiterbeschäftigung ist angestrebt.
