**Your role and responsibilities**:

**Your responsibilities**:
As a Legal Counsel at DIGITEC, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal guidance and ensuring compliance across our operations. Embrace the opportunity to navigate legal complexities in the ever-evolving landscape of technology and innovation, serving our regulated customers in financial services and markets. Additionally, you will provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization. Given our company's global client base and offices in other jurisdictions, your expertise will be invaluable in navigating legal matters across different regions and ensuring consistency in our approach.

The following duties are integral to your role, though expertise in all is not mandatory:

- Legal Compliance:

- Stay abreast of technology industry laws and regulations.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact.
- Develop and implement compliance policies to meet legal requirements.

2. Contractual Law:

- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts including vendor agreements, customer contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Ensure contracts align with company objectives and mitigate legal risks.
- Provide guidance on contract interpretation and enforceability across different jurisdictions (e.g. English law, German law)

3. Intellectual Property (IP) Protection:

- Manage and safeguard our intellectual property portfolio.
- Conduct IP searches and assessments to mitigate infringement risks.

4. Labor Law and Employment Matters:

- Provide guidance on employment law issues such as hiring, termination, discrimination, and harassment.
- Review and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
- Handle employment-related disputes and investigations.

5. Risk Management:

- Identify legal risks and provide proactive solutions.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging legal issues impacting the technology sector, especially in the area of financial markets and services regulation and IT outsourcing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal concerns and achieve business objectives.
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
- Provide legal and compliance training in the organization.

6. External Law Firms and Legal Disputes:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for external law firms.
- Manage relationships with external counsel, including overseeing legal matters delegated to them.
- Coordinate legal strategies and provide guidance in potential legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
- Collaborate with external counsel to achieve favorable outcomes and minimize legal exposure.

**Skills and experiences we‘re interested in**:
**Preferred qualifications**
- Successfully completed law studies (1st state examination)
- Strong understanding of IT law, contractual law, and labor law
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- Familiarity with intellectual property law and data privacy regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience as legal advisor/counsel in a technology company or related field is a plus.
- Very good, business fluent written and spoken English and German skills.
- Experience in the area of financial services and markets regulation and/or regulatory policy and compliance is also a plus.
