**The Role**

Imperial Brands is looking for a Customs Compliance Specialist (m/w/d) to support and strengthen our compliance with customs, excise, and foreign trade laws across our operations in Germany. In this role, you’ll assess legal developments, guide implementation of regulatory changes, and act as a key advisor across departments to ensure seamless, compliant movement of goods across borders. Based in Hamburg, you’ll be part of a multinational team of five, contributing your expertise to a globally connected business.

**Principle Accountabilities**
- Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory changes in customs, excise, and foreign trade law at both EU and German levels.
- Assess business impact of upcoming legal developments and support the implementation of necessary changes.
- Drive compliance awareness across the production site and associated warehouses by promoting adherence to customs and trade requirements.
- Support process improvements and ensure compliance through documentation, training, and standard operating procedures.
- Liaise with customs authorities and external bodies to maintain smooth operational relationships and accurate reporting.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Relevant professional experience in customs, logistics, trade compliance, or excise within an industrial or multinational setting.
- Fluent German speaker, with strong command of written and spoken English.
- In-depth knowledge of EU and German customs and excise legislation, with hands-on experience in regulatory compliance.
- Working knowledge of SAP and familiarity with customs/trade platforms.
- Strong advisory and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legislation into actionable guidance.
- Self-motivated, proactive team player who thrives in international, cross-functional environments.
