**What will be your role?**
As Design Director of the Time & Payment tribe, you will work with Engineering and Product Directors to define and lead your tribe’s strategy, vision, roadmap and hiring plan.
As Design Director, you will be the user advocate of your team. Setting user-centric methods (design thinking, lean UX, etc) to make the PayFit experience delightful and memorable.
You will also manage a growing team of currently 3 amazing product designers, including senior talents.
Reporting to our VP Design, part of the Design Department, you'll preserve the UX consistency at scale by working in alignment with other tribes and Design Directors.
**Your missions**:
**Embody your tribe’s strategy & vision with Engineering and Product**
- You collaborate with your PM, Engineering counterparts and leadership to build vision & direction for your scope,
- You build alignment inside and outside of the product & tech organization,
- You drive impact building delightful experiences with user-centric methods to understand users needs and behavior,
- You put your team in the best conditions to build strong value propositions for end-users aligned with the tribe’s vision,
- You partner with your PM and Engineering counterparts to ensure your team is on track for success and communicate explicitly on outcomes, risks and costs.
**Coach Product Designers of your tribe to grow and build great experiences**
- You drive scale through a high level of excellence in Design implementing best in class product design practices,
- You coach, develop and support Product Designers to excel in their job,
- You support the evolution towards an ideal organizational design within your tribe and the whole product organization,
- You drive Product Designers hiring to further grow your tribe.
**Participate in Design Chapter’s scale & excellence while having an holistic understanding of our design strategy**
- You leverage PayFit Design culture through design consistency and best practices,
- You develop strong processes and workflows from problem discovery to solution delivery, setting the right balance between lean and high product quality,
- You collaborate with your VP and peers to build PayFit design strategy at scale.
**This job has been tailored for you if...**:
- You have at least 5 years of experience in various digital Product Design positions, including working for SaaS, B2C as B2B companies (highly appreciated experiences in a industry with complex business rules)
- You have the ability to build deep ongoing relationships with stakeholders
- You have exceptional communication skills with a talent for crafting compelling communications in simple, everyday language to deliver a memorable story
- You are proactive, organized, focused, and can ruthlessly prioritize with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
- You are humble, empathetic, and convinced that kindness is key in the management
- You can articulate the desired outcome and work collaboratively to create a path to achieve it
- You are a creative problem solver and are able to identify real obstacles and viable solutions
- You are fluent in English and a good level of French, bonus if you speak also German or Spanish
- You have strong analytical, data, and troubleshooting skills
- You have the ability to build confidence, cohesion, and inspiration across our product, design, and engineering organization
