**HEAD OF PEOPLE - GERMANY (Berlin-based)**

Big Mamma is a squadra of more than 2,300 passionate individuals behind **30 of the most iconic Italian restaurants and food markets across the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Belgium**. With over 10,000 guests a day, we deliver joyful, authentic Italian experiences - 100% homemade, 100% fresh, with products imported directly from Italy.

We’re looking for a Head of People - Germany, based in Berlin, to lead our People agenda as we grow across the country. With 3 successful restaurants - **Giorgia in Munich, Edmondo in Hamburg, and Coccodrillo in Berlin** - and more openings ahead, this is a key leadership role at the heart of our expansion.

You’ll **report directly to the Global Chief People Officer** and work closely with our Chief Operating Officer, restaurant General Managers, managers, and chefs to **support and develop our 200+ team members**.

**Your Mission**
- Act as a strategic partner to operations and lead all People topics across Germany
- Manage the full employee lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, employee relations, performance, development, and internal mobility
- Oversee contracts, payroll, and ensure compliance with labour law and tax regulations, working closely with external providers
- Design and implement People initiatives that strengthen team culture, engagement, and retention
- Use data and insight to support decisions and improve the employee experience
- Be present in our restaurants to build relationships and support our teams on the ground

**Your Profile**
- 5-10 years’ experience in HR, ideally in hospitality, retail, or other fast-paced, people-led environments
- Strong knowledge of German employment law, contracts, payroll, and social security contributions
- Experience working with external payroll providers and handling employment-related tax issues
- Fluent in German and English (Italian is a plus)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Able to work independently, make sound decisions, and adapt quickly in a changing environment, while staying aligned with the global HR strategy
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g. Fachhochschulabschluss, Personalfachkaufmann/frau)
- Passionate about people and culture, with a hands-on, practical approach and a strong sense of responsibility
