Hello, we are **AMBOSS** and we have created a new role of **Head of People Operations** to take care of our growing population of AMBOSSians in Berlin, New York, Cologne, Cagliari, and remotely across the world.
We spoke to our hiring manager, who shared how they felt this role would impact our mission:
“The Head of People Operations is the go-to person for all operations-related employee experience initiatives that support the function to achieve their goals. Leading a team of four, you will work closely with the HRBPs, AMBOSSians, and their leaders, and report directly to the VP of People.
In this role, you will have an impact on a growing scale-up and be part of a unique team built on collaboration, openness, inclusivity, and professional development.”
**In the first 12 months you will**:
- Own the employee experience in regards to HR Operations during all stages of the employee life cycle, including contract management, certificates, references, etc..
- Own and steer payroll operations: maintain and evolve a highly reliable and efficient payroll function for our global staff.
- Perform cost/benefit analyses of alternative tools and lead the implementation of new tools; define metrics for success and have an overview of data needed to make decisions helping the company to achieve goals.
- As a leader, provide your team with a compelling purpose and vision, agree on concrete goals, and track with clear KPIs.
- Support management with all questions relating to people operations and provide them with meaningful reports.
- Leverage data and technology to continuously improve and drive operational excellence - design our HRIS for increased efficiency.
- Be well connected across AMBOSS to feel the pulse of what is happening around the company.
- Work closely with HRBPs to build strong relationships with our business and tech teams.
- Be responsible for onboarding and offboarding new employees and alumni.
- Establish and maintain guiding HR policies and principles for such topics as remote work and relocation in collaboration with other departments such as Finance, IT, etc.
**You bring**:
- Relevant professional experience in HR, especially in People Operations, ideally in a scale-up environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong oral and written capabilities in English and German.
- A solid understanding of employment bureaucracy and compliance, including employment, social security, and tax law.
- Strategic forward-thinking conceptual skills and experience leading and inspiring a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style with the ability to build relationships with leaders to influence and drive organizational change at all levels.
- Background at the management level on strategic measures - ideally in an international, fast moving environment.

- A panel interview with our human resources team and other stakeholders;
- An interview with our leadership.
