**Your role**
As Houston S&C Business Process Owner (M/F/d) you will be part of our Sustainability Team within our Scent & Care Business Unit. You act as the expert on Carbon Footprint across the BU - Fragrances, Aroma Chemicals & Cosmetic Ingredients. This role will provide expert knowledge and guidance on measuring, reducing, and managing the carbon footprint associated across production, supply chain, and usage. In addition to acting as the key representative on behalf of S&C you will also act as key expert for the procurement community when it comes to defining the methodology of CO2 calculations for synthetics and naturals; as well as guide the buyers when it comes to facilitating the assessment and enablement of suppliers. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure sustainability goals are met, analysing environmental data, and developing strategies to minimize greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while maintaining product quality and business profitability.
This Role is a fulltime position to be located in our Headquaters in Holzminden, Germany.
- You lead the assessment and analysis of carbon footprints across the lifecycle of products within S&C, from raw material sourcing to production and end-use.
- You develop and implement strategies to reduce GHG emissions and improve sustainability practices within the chemicals business.
- You provide technical expertise on carbon accounting standards (e.g., ISO 14064, GHG Protocol) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- You collaborate with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to integrate sustainable practices and eco-friendly technologies into product development and manufacturing processes.
- You conduct carbon footprint audits, life cycle assessments (LCA), and environmental impact studies for existing and new products.
- You stay updated on trends, regulations, and innovations related to carbon footprint reduction in the chemical industry, particularly in fragrance and aroma chemicals.
- You engage with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies, to promote sustainability initiatives and transparent reporting.
- You prepare detailed reports, presentations, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders on carbon reduction performance and progress.

**About you**
- You successfully completed or University degree in environmental science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- You have extensive experience in carbon footprint assessment and sustainability, preferably in the chemical or aroma / fragrance industry.
- You have a strong knowledge of carbon accounting methodologies, tools (e.g., LCA software), and industry standards.
- You have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex environmental data into actionable business strategies.
- You have strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- You are fluent in business english and have a good command in another major language.
- Ideally, you are certified in carbon management or sustainability (e.g., LEED, GRI, ISO 14001) and are familiar with emerging sustainability technologies in the fragrance or chemical industry.
