**Duties**:
The Emerging Voices (EV) Specialist is the leading locally employed (LE) staff advisor for Embassy Berlin’s Public Diplomacy (PD) engagement with the EV audience sector, primarily youth, minorities, and others who are able to influence German attitudes toward the United States using new, often digital, communication networks rather than prominent protocol positions or established institutions. Plans, develops, coordinates, oversees, and evaluates the impact of all PD activities, projects, and initiatives to engage EV audience sectors. Tracks trends in emerging voices' networks through direct engagement, engagement via traditional media and social media, research, polling, and statistical analysis and analytics. Decides, recommends, and designs PD strategies, programs, grants, workshops, and other events to connect with EV audience sectors to promote understanding of and support for U.S. policy and to dispel inaccurate perceptions. This position has a supervisory role and supervises two employees.

**EXPERIENCE**:Four years of experience is required with communications, public engagement management, or education duties as components of the work. Prior experience in an international, academic, or governmental work environment is required.

**EDUCATION**: A university degree in Communications, International Affairs, American or Intercultural Studies, Marketing, or local equivalent is required.

**OR**

**EXPERIENCE**:Six years of experience is required, with communications, public engagement management, or education duties as components of the work. Prior experience in an international, academic, or governmental work environment is required.

**EDUCATION**: Two years of University Study in any field is required.
