Senior) Research Scientist

We’re looking for a Senior Research Scientist or Research Scientist to join our European Research and Engineering Center (EUREC), based in the Stuttgart Technology Centre (STC), and drive R&D in two audio related deep learning technologies.

Our researchers in the area of AI and machine learning ensure we have high performance solutions with the lowest possible complexity available in all areas of our research. DNNs (Deep Neural Networks) are used in many of our contributions for audio generation, audio source separation, speech recognition, speech translation, and text-to-speech processing for European languages.

You will join a supportive team of engineers & PhDs, who enjoy our social team culture. We are a research team that publishes & patents our work when it’s ready. You will have creative freedom to try new things and find solutions to your projects, but we also want you to take accountability for the work and maintain progress updates to key groups.

You will:
50%:
- R&D in audio related deep-neural-network based signal and text processing- Develop, design and implement prototypes of novel DNN based speech and language algorithms- Develop, design and implement prototypes of algorithms for text-to-speech and speech-to-text- Follow the current literature and state of the art in generative audio, speech recognition- Support of the project team

50%:
- Develop, optimize and test algorithms to separate audio mixes into the constituent tracks (e.g. a pop song into guitar, drums, vocals etc)- Follow the current literature and state of the art in source separation, and DNN based (audio) signal processing in general- Support of the project team

You will bring:
- PhD in a relevant field preferred, minimum M.Sc.- Experience with Deep Neural Networks and their tooling (PyTorch)- Proficiency with Python, Linux- Research-minded, curious, a keen interest in new developments in the field- Plus: Experience with cluster based computing and distributed computing- Plus: Experience with audio-related signal processing
