**HEAD OF APPLIED SCIENCE - CAPACITY MANAGEMENT (ALL GENDERS)** **THE ROLE & THE TEAM** Reporting to the Director of Fulfillment planning and execution and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders such as the Logistic operations and B2B business unit, the Head of Applied Science will create and build a new department that will be established within Fulfillment Core. As we grow our fulfillment network and expand the Logistics services that we offer, it becomes crucial that our capacity planning and management process is highly data-driven, automated, and optimised. The Head of Applied Science will build up a product development pillar dedicated to implementing this. You will be expected to interact credibly and confidently with management and leaders and to develop a long-term vision and strategy for the function in line with our Fulfillment Core and Business vision. The aim of this high-impact role is to be the pioneer and key driver of a new business at Zalando that will improve our business and increase our customer-centricity approach, shape the company's business strategy, and leverage its impact through strong expertise, people leadership, and stakeholder management. You will ensure that each of our customers feels like we are speaking to them personally and taking them by the hand on their fashion journey. The Fulfillment Core team is building the fulfillment platform for all Zalando businesses. Our systems ensure that every customer order is fulfilled correctly, speedily, and as promised to our customers. We contribute to fulfilling two central customer promises: Offering a flawless assortment and comparatively better convenience. Previous experience in this area is welcome, but not required. - You demonstrated leadership in a growth and complex environment as well as strong networking, team management and organisational skills. - You flourish when working in a multinational environment, demonstrating a good understanding of cultural differences and how to embrace them, diversity and inclusion topics. - You have strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of time-sensitive tasks and proven scalability.
