**PostDoc position (M/F/d)**

Fulltime position. Start-date: 1 October 2025

**Job description**:

- Contribution to teaching in the study programmes of the department (two courses per semester / 4 SWS)
- Management and administrative tasks in the context of the Chair
- The opportunity for further academic qualification (_Habilitation_) is given

**Required qualifications**:

- University degree (Diplom [univ.] or Master’s) with very good results in political science or a related discipline
- At the start of employment, completed Ph.D. in the field of International Relations with above-average results
- Experience with publications in international peer-reviewed academic journals
- An incipient independent research agenda in any subfield of International Relations
- Very good knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
- Very good command of German and English

The conditions of employment will be determined by the labour contract for government employees of the German Länder (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder - TV-L) and the German law on temporary employment in academic positions (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The classification of the position as pay grade E13 TV-L is dependent on the fulfilment of personal requirements and the exercise of all assigned duties.

We offer an initial fixed-term contract for two years. The salary will be determined in accordance with TV-L E13.
