This role is part of **Pharma-Insight**, Pharma-Insight GmbH is an independent full-service market research institute with a focus on the healthcare and pharmaceutical market. We operate successfully in a growing and dynamic market and support our national and international clients with exciting questions. **Job Description**:
The Director of Business Development will lead the company through its next phase of high growth in both revenues and profits. The goal of the position is to improve and enhance the key business operations and direct the business toward extensive and sustainable growth. The ultimate objective is to ensure that significant value can be realised by developing an exceptionally well-run business, commensurate in calibre and reputation with the scale of the opportunity and the ambitions of its parent company M3 Global Research and M3 Inc.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assume total, day-to-day, business and management responsibility for Pharma-Insight and for implementing a clearly defined business plan, which develops a leading position for the Company in its selected market areas.
- Ensure that the business achieves ambitious commercial objectives whilst maintaining its unique culture of integrity and trust with its members.
- Design, plan and implement business strategies, plans and procedures being relentless in the pursuit of both improvement and innovation.
- Take responsibility for analysing the strategic opportunities and threats that face Pharma-Insight and for driving the changes in the company’s strategic plan that are required to address these.
- Set comprehensive goals for business transformation, growth and success creating a results-orientated culture.
- Monitor regularly and openly the performance of the business against plan and account to M3GR for the overall operating and financial performance of the business.
- Manage multiple priorities and meet client and company deadlines, building on strong organization, planning, and execution skillsets.
- Working with the CEO of M3GR, take a leading role in identifying and assessing additional potential business opportunities for growth including the negotiation of potential strategic alliances or acquisitions.
- Establish credibility and good working relationships with the other divisions of M3GR and staff as a results orientated, entrepreneurial business leader, committed to recruiting, developing, motivating and retaining able employees and maximising the value of the company.
**Qualifications**:
- Fluent in German and English
- Outstanding reputation for leading and managing a fast-growing organisation and thereby creating suitable growth in profits and value.
- Experience of Market Research business in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sectors.
- Sales and marketing experience, particularly in winning significant, profitable contracts from key accounts and ensuring the subsequent delivery of excellent client service.
- Good understanding of the ethics of a professional market research organisation (commitment to quality, integrity and rigour) and how to balance these with the commercial demands of a rapidly growing business.
- Strong entrepreneurial outlook coupled with effective analytical skills, committed to gaining a real understanding of the company’s business, culture and marketplace, as well as identifying new business opportunities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and management skills with the maturity to handle setbacks calmly and the ability to motivate the management team and all employees, maintaining an environment of enthusiasm and desire for success.
