Our department is responsible for the worldwide direct aviation business. Our clients are airlines,aircraft manufacturers, leasing companies andgeneral aviation businesses. Aviation Direct acts as primary insurer in an exciting specialty market environment.

To join our team of recognised experts, we are currently looking for a committed and motivated underwriter for our growing General Aviation and Manufacturer segment. Your tasks and responsibilities will be varied, encompassing not only underwriting but also managing our clients and brokers as well as business development activities.

Your job
- Responsibility for underwriting the assigned portfolio, the worldwide aviation business with a focus on large aerospace OEMs and general aviation
- Executing our underwriting strategy and actively generating new business
- Optimizing top and bottom-line results for assigned clients by offering the most adequate solution based on risk analyses and pricing assessments
- Client and key account management for large aerospace OEMs, understanding their risk landscape and finding opportunities for new business solutions and risk management offerings, and taking a lead role in large and complex client projects
- Developing and maintaining strategic dialogue with international broking houses
- Managing our general aviation MGAs including developing growth strategies and driving automation initiatives
- Observing and analysing the aviation market and industry trends, updating the underwriting policy and pricing parameters, and ensuring underwriting and pricing quality and efficient business workflows
- Helping to ensure opinion leadership internally and externally, while establishing, retaining and transferring know-how in your field of responsibility and taking part in industry visits and international conferences
- Ensuring cross-line interaction and collaboration beyond our divisional unit

**Profile**:

- University degree or professional insurance qualifications
- Underwriting experience in aviation with sound knowledge of general aviation underwriting
- Proficiency in risk assessment, pricing and wording of (primary) insurance contracts
- Business mindset, very good negotiating skills and assertiveness, particularly when dealing with brokers
- Strong client focus and the ability to identify clients’ needs and transform these into viable concepts and profitable business
- Solution-focused approach combined with the ability to build valuable relationships
- Genuine collaborative, team-oriented approach to work
- Willingness to take responsibility and make decisions
- Business fluency in English
- Willingness to travel
