Motor Vehicle Operator

**Duties**:

- Drives a platform truck (tow truck) weighing up to 26,000 pounds to transport other vehicles, supplies, and materials throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions.
- Responsible for loading and unloading cargo and materials, securing and transporting vehicles.
- Ensures truck is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation.
- Completes paperwork regarding wreck and/or impounded vehicles to include occasionally taking payment of services provided.
- Assist in preparing for and executing the Abandoned Vehicle and NAF Equipment Auctions.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Army Europe (USAREUR) Certificate of license and a valid Class D (CDL) driver’s license.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all required pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation and a physical examination.
- Maintains a valid Class D driver’s license with F endorsement.
- This position has critical safety or security responsibilities and as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP).
- This position is covered by the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019-R.
- A health assessment is required due to the lifting requirements as per the position description.
- Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**:
Applicant must possess a valid Class D driver's license with F endorsement issued by the state in which employed.

Must have 12 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate. Knowledge of the processing of wreck and impounded vehicles.

**PCS Costs**
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

**FWS Allowances and Differentials**
- This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
- Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.

**Foreign Overseas Allowances**
- Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
- Post allowance will be paid to U.S. Citizens.
