Market Editor, German Language

We are looking for a **Market Editor, German Language (f/m/d)** based in Frankfurt.

We are seeking an enthusiastic markets editor to cover the global ups and downs of equities, bonds, currencies and commodities for our German language clients. This job will put you at intersection of news about companies, the economy, monetary policy and global politics and allow you to work on some of the most-read stories on our busy file. You will work in a fast-paced news environment, jumping onto market spikes and drops, and connect the dots for readers to help them understand what the moves mean. You will work as part of a team of market reporters, cooperate with correspondents in Germany and Reuters’ broader global markets team.

**About the Role**

As a **Market Editor, German Language **you will:

- Cover stock, bond, commodity and currency markets from the market close in Asia to the market opening in the United States with quick and short stories as well as broader market reports
- Monitor price moves and investigate the reasons behind them in cooperation with sector correspondents
- Anticipate and prepare for market-moving events such as elections and major political and monetary policy decisions
- Identify and research trend stories around financial markets
- Ensure that stories live up to the highest standards for content, context and style for German language clients

To be our **Market Editor, German Language **you will likely have:

- A passion for breaking news and financial markets
- General knowledge of the major asset classes and how they are connected
- Some experience in writing about financial markets or companies
- A willingness to learn quickly and an ability to work under pressure with an eye to accuracy
- An ability to work as part of a team, with strong organizational and communication skills,
- Fluent German, very good English
