About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Biology Specialist to join our team in the Antibody Development department at Roche Diagnostics.
Your Department
The successful candidate will be part of the 'Antibody Development' subchapter, which belongs to the 'Reagent Research & Design' department.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop diagnostic antibodies using classical hybridoma or B cell PCR technologies
- Isolate B cells and cultivate them
- Perform single cell sorting of B cell specific populations
- Screen for target-specific antibodies
- Isolate RNA from B cell lysates and synthesize cDNA
- Perform RT-PCR of IgG heavy chain and light chain coding sequences and clone them in suitable expression vectors
- Transform E. coli, prepare constructs, and work on research projects to support antibody development optimization
- Plan and execute experiments independently
- Document and present results
Requirements
- Master's degree in Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a comparable field
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with basic immunology and cell biology techniques (cell culture, FACS, ELISA)
- Experience with molecular biological methods (RT-PCR, cloning) and knowledge of respective analytical methods
- Interest in laboratory automation
- Curious and open to new ideas
- Excellent English skills, German knowledge is an advantage
- Engagement, strong self-reliance, and organizational skills, with a passion for teamwork
