About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Mass Spectrometry Department at Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). As a research intern, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of innovative analytical methods for physicochemical characterization of complex therapeutic proteins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and couple biochemical methods such as chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques to mass spectrometry
  • Support interdisciplinary teams within the unit of Molecule Characterization
  • Collaborate with scientists from protein analytics, bio processing, and data science in a cross-functional matrix
  • Presentation of data internally and externally, as well as literature research, will be part of your tasks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular (cell) biology, biotechnology, or a related field
  • Prior experience in protein biochemistry (LC) and/or mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is a plus
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken) complete your profile
  • You are goal-oriented, have a strong drive, analytical mindset, and motivation to achieve excellence; you are willing to perform wet lab experiments and eager to establish new techniques
  • You are a strong team player, but capable of working independently where necessary
  • You are a good communicator, making sure your ideas and results are put on the table, and are happy to receive constructive feedback and learn from it
