Ship Mechanic/Motor Locksmith for Maintenance at Hamburg Port Authority

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Ship Mechanic/Motor Locksmith to join our team at Hamburg Port Authority. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of ships and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on ships and equipment, with a focus on motor technology
- Conduct minor repairs and troubleshooting on site
- Identify and diagnose issues, and prepare for external contracting as needed
- Collaborate with external service providers and internal teams to ensure seamless operations
- Support technical inspectors in identifying repair scopes for dry dock periods
- Participate in occasional service and repair missions in the northern region, primarily in Cuxhaven
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, mechatronics engineer, motor locksmith, or agricultural machinery mechanic, with experience in maintenance and repair of marine diesel engines and related specialization in motor technology
- Willingness to pursue further education and training, tailored to the role's requirements
- Valid driver's license (class B) is desirable
- Unrestricted physical fitness for working on water and on ships and equipment
- Strong teamwork and self-motivation skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results, even under high workloads
