About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Marine Mechanic to join our team at Hamburg Port Authority. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the ships and equipment within our fleet, with a particular focus on engine technology.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on vessels and equipment, specializing in marine diesel engines.
- Perform minor on-site repairs to ensure operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and conduct initial assessments to identify repair needs.
- Collaborate with service providers to coordinate maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist Technical Inspectors in determining repair scopes for scheduled dockyard periods.
- Occasionally undertake service and repair missions within the northern German region, primarily in Cuxhaven.
Your Qualifications
- Completed vocational training as an Industrial Mechanic, Mechatronics Technician, Engine Fitter, or Agricultural Machinery Mechanic. Prior experience in maintaining marine diesel engines and specialization in engine technology is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated willingness to participate in further training tailored to the specific requirements of Hamburg Port Authority.
- Possession of a Class B driving license is advantageous.
- Excellent physical fitness to work effectively on water, ships, and equipment.
- A strong team player with enthusiasm and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently even under pressure.
