Maintenance Mechanic/Motor Locksmith for Hamburg Port Authority Fleet

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Ship Mechanic/Motor Locksmith to join our team at Hamburg Port Authority. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and inspections on our fleet of ships and equipment, with a focus on motor technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on ships and equipment, with a focus on motor technology
- Conduct minor repairs on site
- Identify and troubleshoot issues, including conducting initial assessments to prepare for external contracting
- Collaborate with service providers from Hamburg Port Authority
- Support technical inspectors in determining repair scopes for dry dock periods
- Participate in occasional service and repair missions (day trips) in the northern German region, primarily in Cuxhaven
What You Bring
- Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, mechatronics engineer, motor locksmith, or agricultural machinery mechanic, preferably with experience in maintenance of marine diesel engines and corresponding specialization in motor technology
- Willingness to pursue further education and training, tailored to the job requirements at Hamburg Port Authority
- Possession of a valid Class B driver's license, desirable
- Unrestricted physical fitness for working on water and on ships and equipment
- Enjoyment of working in a team environment
- Ability to work independently and deliver optimal results even under high workloads
