About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sustainability Strategist to join our team at Deutsche Börse Group. As a key member of our CEO Division, you will be responsible for developing and managing our sustainable strategy, including the management of our ESG activities, measurement and documentation of ESG KPIs, and support of business areas in the development of ESG products and markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate ESG and sustainability trends and regulatory requirements
  • Implement and enhance sustainability strategy and climate strategy in line with ESG framework at Group level and in divisions
  • Advance and performance monitor ESG activities at Group level, including climate strategy related KPIs and reduction measures to achieve Net Zero ambition
  • Develop and optimize material ESG processes, including materiality analysis, value chain, and opportunity management
  • Prepare ESG reporting for executive management decision processes and board-related presentations
  • Further optimize processes and identify opportunities related to sustainability matters
  • Perform and coordinate ESG ratings relevant for Deutsche Börse's executive remuneration
Requirements
  • University degree in Business Administration, Sustainability Management, or similar
  • Minimum 5 years of professional working experience in the sustainability field in strategic management consulting, auditing, or financial sector
  • Experience and knowledge of sustainability strategy development and implementation, carbon management (GHG Protocol, SBTi), corporate due diligence (social impact scans, impact measurement), and awareness of developments in the field, such as those around corporate sustainability reporting (EU CSRD, TCFD, SASB, GRI)
  • Recognizing trends and networking in the ESG environment
  • Strong analytical skills and structured, solution-driven working methods
  • Demonstrated project management skills, assertiveness, resilience, strong service, and customer orientation
  • Excellent presentation development skills and ability to create an easy-to-understand storyline for complex facts and data
  • Strong communication skills to stakeholders of all levels (including executive board, senior management, team, internal and external business partners)
  • Ability to work in a team and in a matrix organization within a multicultural, international environment with high-level initiative, commitment, and motivation
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English in writing and speaking
