Master Collector of Japanese Art

Are you an art enthusiast with a passion for Japanese culture? Catawiki is the world's leading online marketplace to buy and sell special objects. We are seeking a skilled expert to join our team as a Japanese Art & Antiquities Expert.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to work closely with our in-house experts, evaluating and arranging lots submitted by our users. As a specialist in modern and contemporary Japanese art, you will be responsible for creating attractive lot listings each week. Your expertise and extensive network will be invaluable in facilitating successful transactions and fostering trust and transparency among buyers and sellers.
You will also act as a commercial representative for Catawiki, attending art fairs and engaging directly with collectors. With your exceptional negotiation skills, you will provide expert advice to facilitate deals and expand Catawiki's market in Japan. You will play a key role in launching campaigns tailored to attract younger collectors, including Gen Z.
Your goal will be to leverage your knowledge and experience to drive growth and success within Catawiki's Asian & Tribal department. Based in Japan or Hong Kong, you will work remotely with a global team, connecting with customers worldwide.
What We're Looking For- A proven track record in Japanese Art & Antiquities, particularly in modern and contemporary works.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in negotiating deals and representing a platform at fairs and exhibitions.
- Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English (English language course may be provided if needed).
- A robust network of potential sellers, buyers, and experts in Japanese Art & Antiquities.
