Head of Particle Physics Division

The Head of Particle Physics Division will be responsible for leading the particle physics division and contributing to the development of the DESY laboratory as a whole. This role will play a leading role in shaping the future of particle physics at DESY, including cooperation with other research areas and fostering its role as a hub in the German academic ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the field of particle physics in the Helmholtz Association and national/international networks and organisations
- Coordinate DESY's contribution to national and international projects in particle physics
- Take over responsibility for certain central infrastructure service groups that provide services for the entire campus, including computing and electronics
- Outstanding scientific record and international stature in particle physics
- Proven scientific leadership and excellent management skills
- Knowledge of international research landscape and opportunities
- Excellent communication, networking, and partnership building skills
