The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1218 at the University of Cologne is seeking a highly motivated and qualified scientist to join our team as a PhD student. The successful candidate will be involved in research projects focused on mitochondrial function in skin inflammation and regeneration.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and a keen interest in studying basic mechanisms of disease processes. Previous experience in mouse work is desirable but not mandatory.

We are looking for a candidate who recently obtained their Diploma/Masters degree. The applicant should have a strong academic record and a passion for research. The candidate will be actively involved in our research group and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.

» Our Research

The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1218 is a joint project between the University of Cologne and the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing. Our research focuses on the regulation of mitochondrial function in cellular processes. We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified scientist to join our team and contribute to our research goals.

The CRC 1218 is organized in seventeen scientific and five central projects. The Integrated Research Training Group (mito-RTG) provides our doctoral candidates and postdoctoral scientists with the best possible scientific environment, guidance, mentoring, and teaching.
