The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1218 at the University of Cologne is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team. The successful candidate will be involved in research projects focused on mitochondrial function in skin inflammation and regeneration.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and a keen interest in studying basic mechanisms of disease processes. Previous experience in mouse work is desirable but not mandatory.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic scientist who recently obtained their Diploma/Masters degree. The applicant should have a strong academic record and a passion for research.

The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1218 is a leading research institution in the field of mitochondrial regulation of cellular function. Our research focuses on understanding how mitochondria influence activity, differentiation and survival of the cell.

The CRC 1218 is organized in seventeen scientific and five central projects. The Integrated Research Training Group (mito-RTG) provides our doctoral candidates and postdoctoral scientists with the best possible scientific environment, guidance, mentoring and teaching.
