SAP Lead Engineer – Group General Ledger

About the Role

The SAP Group General Ledger team in CIO Finance at Deutsche Bank is responsible for the product portfolio of global finance and management reporting systems, primarily based on SAP products and SAP HANA. In addition to classic change/CTB tasks and continuous platform improvement, we maintain specialist knowledge of processes and systems, as well as expertise in successfully managing large and international programs in close coordination with specialist departments. The portfolio includes systems for Group Corporate Planning and Financial Consolidation, as well as internal and external reporting for the Deutsche Bank Group.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Functional leadership of Engineer colleagues in analyzing business processes, designing and programming technical software solutions for our SAP solutions according to our agile process model.
  • Ensuring reliability and resiliency, reusability of solutions through good conception and appropriate unit tests, performance tests, post-go live tests, and checks throughout the entire life cycle of the delivery.
  • Guiding colleagues to ensure that the integration of high-quality solutions into existing processes and software solutions for our finance customers is adhered to within the bank.
  • As part of your coordination work of Service Level 3 on your self-developed and your colleagues' software solutions, you will support them in solving any problems with the developments that arise in production.
  • As a lead engineer, you are responsible for the design and programming of reporting solutions that enable our customers to create detailed analyses of financial figures that can also be made available to the board of directors and top management as control information.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a focus on IT or business administration or comparable training/professional experience (bank clerk desirable), an IT specialist is also welcome.
  • Profound long-term professional experience in design and software development for the areas of group accounting/group planning or knowledge in setting up SAP BW solutions.
  • Experience in the design and programming of complex software solutions in the platforms SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM), SAP BPC, or SAP BCS.
  • Knowledge and experience with the SAP stack at Deutsche Bank are desirable.
  • Experience in the design and software expansion of reporting solutions such as SAP Business Objects, Tableau, or SAP SAC is desirable.
  • Experience in the programming languages SAP ABAP Standard or ABAP Objects and/or Microsoft .NET/Blazor/VBA and/or Python.
  • Analytical and technical competence as well as good communication skills in a multinational team and in collaboration with demanding internal bank customers.
  • Fluent English language skills are mandatory.
