About the Role

This is a senior role in our accounting organization, and a unique opportunity to be a key contributor and shape a small team into a best-in-class organization.

As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for shaping our accounting policies (HGB, IFRS, RechKredV) across all business areas and ensure their rigorous documentation and adoption.

You will be the face of Accounting when working closely with stakeholders across the company to define applicable accounting standards and logics support new product development.

Here are the key responsibilities of the role:

  • This is a senior role in our accounting organisation and a unique opportunity to be a key contributor and shape a small team into a best-in-class organisation
  • You will be responsible for shaping our accounting policies (HGB, IFRS, RechKredV) across all business areas and ensure their rigorous documentation and adoption
  • Be the face of Accounting when working closely with stakeholders across the company to define applicable accounting standards and logics support new product development
  • Spearhead continuous development of our accounting standards, incl. local GAAPs, IFRS conversion, leading several topics with a high degree of independence
  • Drive conversations with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including our year-end group audit

Requirements

We're looking for someone with at least 5 years of professional experience in accounting, financial services, audit, or a comparable position in a top-tier accounting/ advisory firm.

You should have excellent technical accounting (HGB, IFRS) knowledge, including experience with group reporting/ consolidation.

Experience in the financial services/banking sector or a fintech startup with in-depth knowledge of relevant banking-specific topics and accounting complexities is also required.

We're looking for a self-starter with the drive to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, high-growth organisation.

Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex accounting topics succinctly are essential.
