Sr. Electro-Functional Systems Engineer (m/f/d)
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Electro-Functional Systems Engineering team for Payload Projects, coordinating and guiding project team members in related engineering tasks:
- Create engineering work packages and follow up on project duration
- Define instrument requirements related to Electro-Functional technical disciplines and challenge design solutions
- Develop and accommodate Electro-Functional design baseline solutions based on customer requirements and budgets
- Define and maintain instrument Electro-Functional budgets, ensuring they remain within allocated requirements
- Ensure proper flow-down and allocation of lower-level sub-system requirements and budgets, maintaining them up to date during the program lifetime
- Responsible for defining and specifying internal and external interfaces, including margins and associated documentation
- Perform technical management of subcontracts in the assigned technical area
- Support the evaluation and management of deviations and non-conformances
- Support implementation of agreed changes to the design and deliverables
- Collaborate with System technical management and other Systems Engineering disciplines
Your Qualifications
- University or polytechnic degree or PhD in Physics or Engineering, ideally in Systems Engineering with focus on one or more Electro-Functional disciplines
- At least five to ten years of professional experience in design, development, and verification activities for space projects, preferably for payload projects in the Electro-Functional area
- Organized and structured task approach, high degree of motivation
- Ability to lead and guide a project-related Electro-Functional engineering team in combination with technical leadership capability
- Deep understanding of the system from the electro-functional point of view and ability to lead system and unit-level verification activities
- Strong focus on reaching progress by thinking and communicating in terms of solutions, and the ability to reach goals under schedule pressure
- Excellent communication skills, combined with the ability to work in international and multi-disciplinary teams
- Fluent in English in reading and writing, German skills are a plus
