Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated working student to engage in the development of a customizable foundation model tailored for various vision tasks utilizing Infineon's proprietary dataset.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a foundation model that is adaptable and can be fine-tuned for diverse vision applications.
  • Work on a model that accommodates images of varying sizes and resolutions, effectively leveraging spectral information to surpass existing models.
  • Engage with Infineon's unique dataset, which presents distinct characteristics compared to conventional image datasets.
  • Optimize the model to utilize spectral information efficiently, potentially drawing inspiration from advanced models such as DINOv2 and Mask Auto Encoder (MAE).
  • Explore multi-stage pretraining techniques to enhance model performance.
  • Conduct validation of the model's performance through ablation studies and comparisons with existing foundation models.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Informatics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with foundation models, including Segment Anything and Masked Auto Encoder (MAE).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, along with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch, as well as Bash scripting and Linux terminal for data processing.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Important Information:

  • This is a part-time position, allowing for a maximum of 20 hours of work per week during the academic term.
  • Students must be actively enrolled and not have completed their examination results or modules, ensuring a minimum commitment of 6 months.
