Role Responsibilities:

  • Model Development: You will be responsible for creating a foundational model that can be tailored and optimized for various visual tasks using our proprietary dataset.
  • Data Utilization: Your work will focus on developing a model capable of processing images of varying sizes and resolutions, effectively leveraging spectral data to surpass current models in performance.
  • Dataset Exploration: Engage with Infineon's unique dataset, which presents distinct characteristics compared to conventional image datasets.
  • Model Optimization: Enhance the model's ability to utilize spectral information, potentially drawing insights from existing models like DINOv2 and Masked Auto Encoder (MAE).
  • Research Investigation: Explore multi-stage pretraining methodologies to boost model efficacy.
  • Performance Validation: Conduct thorough evaluations of the model's performance through ablation studies and comparisons with established foundation models.

Qualifications:

  • You are pursuing a degree in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Informatics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with foundation models such as Segment Anything and Masked Auto Encoder (MAE) is essential.
  • You possess strong communication and presentation skills, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch), and knowledge of Bash scripting and Linux terminal are required.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken, is necessary.

Additional Information:

  • This is a part-time position, allowing a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic term.
