Power Plant Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

IDSI is seeking a Power Plant Operator to support the Total Maintenance Contract for the Kaiserslautern Military Community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and effective operation of the power plant facility.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database to track work orders and update statuses.
  • Analyze equipment data and trends to formulate changes to the maintenance program procedures.
  • Eliminate unscheduled outages and perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
  • Test circuits, power grids, transformers, and controls to measure the integrity of electrical components.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Host Nation certified High Pressure Boiler Plant Operator (Hochdruckheisser).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of electrical codes, utility standards, and safety programs.
  • Experience in power plant operations, power generation, distribution, transmission, and substation maintenance.
  • NICET III certification in electrical power testing or equivalent training.
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in power plant operations, power generation, distribution, transmission, and substation maintenance.

Language Requirements:

  • English and German at level 4 proficiency.

Computer Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
