About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the Paul Drude Institut Berlin. The successful candidate will be involved in the investigation of novel 2D heterostructures composed of ferromagnetic and semiconducting materials.

The PhD researcher will focus on optical spectroscopy experiments to gain insights into the properties of these hybrid materials. The candidate will work closely with our team to design and fabricate samples, as well as to analyze and interpret the data.

The PhD researcher will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with experts in materials science, condensed matter physics, and device engineering.

Your Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and characterize heterostructure samples using advanced techniques
  • Perform optical spectroscopy measurements to investigate the properties of the samples
  • Analyze and interpret the data to gain insights into the behavior of the hybrid materials
  • Collaborate with the team to design and fabricate new samples and experiments
  • Present research findings at conferences and publish papers in top-tier journals
Requirements
  • Master's degree in physics or a related field
  • Background in experimental condensed matter physics
  • Hands-on experience with optical spectroscopy techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
