Development Associate

At Embl-Ebi, we are seeking a highly motivated Development Associate to support our fundraising and corporate relations efforts.
About the RoleThis six-month contract position will play a crucial role in assisting with the planning and execution of fundraising and corporate relations events. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a strong interest in the nonprofit sector.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in updating donor data in software programs and performing regular data checks in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Researching prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors to identify potential opportunities for partnerships.
- Liaising with our internal communications department to ensure that our fundraising webpages are up-to-date and assist with uploading content to the web.
- Attending department and team meetings to stay informed about ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Preparing and drafting donor communication and impact reports to showcase the value of our work.
We offer a competitive stipend of 1200 EUR per month, providing an attractive opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the nonprofit sector. As a Development Associate, you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in fundraising, corporate relations, and project management.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in English, with German being an asset. Previous nonprofit experience and/or coursework in fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, and communications is also desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and use of the internet is required, while knowledge of InDesign and WordPress would be an advantage.
