Master-Thesis (m/f/d) – Adaptive Soundscape Editing Based on Classified Acoustic Events

We are seeking a highly motivated student to work on a Master-Thesis project in the field of adaptive soundscape editing. The project aims to develop an algorithm for removing classified acoustic events from a recorded signal.
This project has the potential to make a significant impact in the field of accessibility, particularly for individuals who suffer from misophonia/hyperacusis/phonophobia. The goal is to create a lightweight real-time solution that can be used in transparency/ANC pipelines on hearables like True-Wireless earbuds.
As a Master-Thesis student, you will work closely with our team to investigate a proof-of-concept using the DCASE dataset. You will also have the opportunity to explore alternative approaches, such as simplifying sound-labels used in DCASE.
We are looking for a student with a strong background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. You should be confident in your programming skills, particularly in Python, and have experience in signal processing and machine learning.
