Supply Chain Optimization Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Optimization Specialist to join our team at METRO Markets GmbH. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate stock projections based on supply plans that align with demand forecasts.
- Ensure warehouses have sufficient inbound capacity planning in both short and long-term horizons, analyzing potential risks and opportunities.
- Track and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs, including projecting out-of-stock or overstock risks.
- Analyze data and track performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Support operations cost-effectiveness by tracking incoming warehouse capacity and analyzing risks in upcoming inbounds, ensuring efficient routes and adjusting container arrivals, and coordinating with direct replenishment.
- Coordinate and monitor orders from Asia to Europe, projecting how ETA changes will affect country availability, stock levels, and warehouse capacity.
- Generate reports and provide insights to stakeholders for data-driven decision-making.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align supply chain activities with business goals, streamlining operations and improving overall supply chain performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, PowerBI).
- Proven experience in supply chain management, with experience working in a retail or e-commerce environment highly desirable.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including ERP systems and logistics management platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
