Join Our Team as a Senior Backend Engineer for E-commerce

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team at STACKIT. As a key member of our Commerce Platform domain, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our e-commerce backend systems.

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work closely with our product teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient e-commerce solutions. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining our cloud-based commerce platform, ensuring seamless integration with our metering and billing systems.

You will be part of a small, cross-functional team that takes ownership of the entire development lifecycle, from concept to operation. Your expertise will be invaluable in shaping the future of our e-commerce platform and driving business growth.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient e-commerce solutions
  • Work closely with product teams to gather requirements and plan technical implementation
  • Develop migration strategies and implement them to replace existing systems
  • Support and consult product teams on metering and billing system connections
  • Automate and optimize technical processes on an ongoing basis
  • Coach and mentor team members to build up and expand their knowledge
Requirements

We are looking for a team player with a passion for cloud technologies and e-commerce. You should have:

  • Strong experience in developing distributed and business-critical systems
  • Proficiency in Go or other languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Rust
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, and Helm
  • Experience with database types, especially PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Knowledge of event-based systems and necessary technologies
