Job Title: Business Development Director

At Zayo, we are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Director to lead our market growth strategies across customer segments, assets, and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute market growth strategies to drive revenue and expand our customer base.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to pursue and support solution sales, ensuring alignment with our value proposition.
  • Utilize Zayo's Salesforce platform to provide transparent visibility of activity and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Design and implement solutions for customers requiring guidance on their application landscape.
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial, long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Elevate the benefits of Infrastructure services and Zayo's value proposition through internal and external evangelism.
  • Drive programmatic growth initiatives and identify organic and inorganic investment opportunities.
  • Engage with C-Level and VP/Director-level stakeholders to build relationships and drive business outcomes.
  • Negotiate options to sell and/or exchange through asset trade opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in sales, business development, product management, account management, or sales engineering, including knowledge of business customer applications in dark fibre, fibre optic construction, and network services.
  • Solid understanding of the cloud, colocation, and data centre ecosystem.
  • Good understanding of the regulated industry (Government, Utilities) process to contract services.
  • Solid understanding of Fibre, Transport, and Layer 3 Services (Dark Fibre, Private Dedicated Networks, Fibre Construction Services, Wavelengths, Ethernet, IP Transit, and Cloud Interconnection).
  • Sound business judgement, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various functional teams and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office, G-Suite, and CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce).
  • Strong business acumen and excellent English language skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve customer issues or seek proper internal resources to facilitate resolution.
  • Ability to multitask, facilitate customer service, and solve problems.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
