The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) Overseas is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Program Coordinator to support military education initiatives in the Kaiserslautern area.

About the Job

This part-time position, approximately 50% FTE, requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team to provide exceptional service to students and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic and administrative support services to prospects and students, ensuring quality assurance standards are met through prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous responses.
  • Document all student contact and schedule follow-up activities using UMGC's Customer Relations Management System.
  • Maintain open and positive communications with host military Education Services Officers and respective Education Center staff.
  • Organize and participate in local education fairs, open houses, semester start-ups, student appreciation days, local graduations, and other events as needed, representing UMGC professionally, including weekends.
  • Analyze class enrollments and student interest to inform scheduling decisions, ensure adequate space and technology for classes, and assist faculty in obtaining base access.
  • Process students' military documentation, such as Tuition Assistance vouchers, ID cards, orders, and distribute marketing materials at assigned locations when permissible.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background in customer service.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with accurate attention to detail.
  • Basic office management and clerical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a similar role or relevant coursework can be beneficial. A valid driver's license is also desirable.

Who May Apply

This position is open to local candidates with Individual Logistics Support (ILS) preferred. To qualify for ILS, applicants must serve US Forces exclusively, not be stateless persons, be nationals of a NATO state excluding the host nation, and not be ordinarily resident in the host nation.
